AMA: in-text citations

I am trying to use the AMA format in my document and am having trouble getting the citation numbers to show up properly within the the text. They are superscript as they should be, but they do not have commas between the numbers (e.g., showing up as 123 instead of 1,2,3) and I also want to use hyphens between groups of citations (e.g., 1-5 instead of 1,2,3,4,5). Can someone help me figure out how to fix this?
  • You need to enter them as multiple sources into a single citation. See
    https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#citations_with_multiple_cited_items

For citations already inserted, you'll need to go back and manually fix this. There's no way to merge.
  • That doesn't answer the question. THe probelm is in the paper itself the citations don't have commas between them if using endnote and Chicago style either.
  • It does answer Rebecca's question, though maybe not yours. If you're using Chicago Style, this works entirely differently, so best to start a new thread (Start a New Discussion at the top left) and describe in a little more detail what you're seeing, what you would like to see, and what the issues you're facing.
