Can`t ad PDF to Zotero

I'm studying linguistics and I was making a research for wich I needed my friends work added to Zotero. And here comes my trouble. Something went wrong and I couldn`t do it. I believe it`s not a Zotero problem but i still need his work. It is a PDF file. I have seen the error message. But I was in a hurry and closed it fast without proper reading. I guess that message appears again it says something about corruption or so. Why could it be? Maybe because the file is named in russian? My friend is russian and he send me his work as he has it on his own computer, with russian name. Could that be that file got damaged during the transfer proces? How can I make my friends work available for me again?

    Not much to go on here. Is it your PDF reader that give you the error? Please try opening the file again to see where the error is produced and what exactly it says.

    Also: in Zotero, select the PDF. In the right-hand pane, click the arrow at the top and select "show file". Are you able to open the PDF from your file browser that should open up? If not, the PDF is corrupted and it is reasonably likely that this has nothing to do with Zotero.
