Mendeley three characters, example: [Wie02]

Hi,

is it somehow possible to change my current style in Mendeley from e.g. [Wies02] to [Wie02] or [EiSt09] to [ES09]?
Or is it definitely not possible with Mendeley? Should I use something different for my thesis? Any suggestions?

Thank you for your support.
Greetings
  • This is a forum for technical support for users of the Zotero software. Although both Mendeley and Zotero use CSL there are other differences. I recommend contacting the Mendeley tech support folks.

Are you asking if the Zotero program can correctly do what you want? I am personally unfamiliar with that kind of citation style but someone will likely answer you if that is really your question.
  • I'm pretty sure, though, the answer is no. CSL can't do it and Zotero can't do it and that almost certainly means that Mendeley can't do it either (when it comes to citation styles).

What we refer to as alphanumeric styles (sometimes labeled trigraph) can't be customize in CSL.
  • Thank you both for your fast answers. That's what I was afraid of. So I guess I need something different than CSL :)
