PSU catalog not working with zotero

As others have said, the catalog is producing "an error occurred while saving this item -- check known translator issues for more information" .

I work in the tech department in the PSU Libraries that runs the catalog and it appears that the default install of Sirsi Symphony 3.2.1 is not working with the translator. Are other institutions on this version and is there a fix we can employ on our side to get things working again?

  • Thanks for noting this. Ticket created.
  • Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/Library Catalog (SIRSI).js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data).

It should start working again. If this works for you, please post here so that I can submit this change to be pushed to all users.
  • I tested the new translator and it is not working with our (Penn States) new Sirsi Symphony 3.4 Version RevD Pages. It appears Sirsi has gone from using tables to using lists and css.

    Thanks,
    Janis
  • thank you - we're aware of this new generation of SIRSI - thankfully your colleagues at Rice and Rutgers have already developed a translator, we're in the process of fixing that up to correctly detect which version of SIRSI is running (the urls are, unfortunately, indistinguishable), we should have a version that works on all newer SIRSIs out soon, I'll post here to let you know.
  • Thanks Adam. If you need any help testing, etc. let us know we would be happy to help out.
  • Janis has probably seen this already, but in case anyone else is following a long - most e-library SIRSI installations should start working within the next 24hs. If yours does not, please post here or in a new thread and we can have a look.
  • Thanks Adam.
