trouble with account/ not syncing

Whenever I try to sync from this account (even with just one PDF), the process hangs up and eventually FF crashes. I've tried another account on this computer and the sync occurs in seconds, even with many PDFs. I think there is something wrong with my account.

    When you say Firefox crashes, what do you mean by that? As in, closes completely with an error?

    And what do you mean by "even with just one PDF"? If you mean that you're syncing an empty library, that would be because it's trying to download your full server libraries, and it's possible your computer doesn't have enough memory for that. (The next major version of Zotero will handle very large syncs much better.)

    But if you have a Zotero installation that syncs properly and has all your data, you can just transfer over that data directory, and then this copy of Zotero will just pick up in the same place as that one.

    Or do you mean you've tried a different Zotero account? In that case, do you have another computer where you are successfully syncing the first account? If so, that'd be the data directory you could transfer to this computer to skip the full sync.
  • To be clear, though, even the current version of Zotero certainly shouldn't crash Firefox with the amount of data you have under this account, if that's actually what's happening. How much RAM does this computer have?
