cannot download full text

Hi,

Sometimes a full text from an article cannot be downloaded even though I am right inside the full text page. For example right now I'm sitting in my office at a university trying to download an article from IEEE Xplore. The full text is not downloaded automatically so I have to download the food tax manually and added to Zotero. My Zotero is up to date newest version.Could you help please. thanks

What's the URL exactly as you see it? Which Zotero version & browser are you using?

when you hover over the URL bar icon, what does it say? (It will start with "Save to Zotero" what we need to know is what's in the parentheses after that.

It says:
Save to Zotero (DOI)
that's it.

OK, that's what I suspected.
When you go to a resource through the serialssolution interface of your library (rather than directly to, say, ieeexlore.ieee.org) Zotero isn't able to recognize the resource. The only reason it imports anything at all is that it finds a DOI (that's a digital object identifier, in this case 10.1109/TEM.2005.844925 ) on that page and looks up the citation information associated with it in a database.

ok--that make sense but I don't know how to get around--you know, i access all databases through the school rather than having individual log in for each... is there a solution for it? Or can you develop it? I do encounter this problem often...
also, I think you should consider to update the discussion forum to support uploading jpeg. it would be 100 times easier if I just upload a screen shot..

the problem isn't accessing them through the school, but specifically having them be through the serialssolution interface. I don't know authentication at FIU well enough to be able to help much, but you could see if someone at the library would be able to help, they should be.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to access, say, IEEE just going through EZ Proxy (you can in fact try what happens when you use
http://ezproxy.fiu.edu/login?url=http://ieeexplore.ieee.org and if that gets you to IEEEXplore, just as an example.
