Opening a .jpg file

Hello everyone, this is my first post.

I have inserted a reference to .jpg file in the centre column and I have maximised the Zotero screen. What should I expect to see when I highlight the .jpg file and click on 'View File' ? Nothing is displayed though a .doc file will open up in a separate window.

However, if I minimise the Zotero screen the .jpg file is suddenly visible.

Is this correct?

May I add a suggestion? I think Zotero would benefit from a Help File so that the answers to questions such as the above can be found easily.

    Attachments opened in Zotero that are handled by the browser (such as JPEGs) are opened in the browser window, so you'll need to either minimize the Zotero pane or use the normal split-screen (non-maximized) mode.

    .doc files are opened externally in Word.
