Zotero not working with Chrome

The zotero icon fails to be displayed on any sites that I visit in chrome. I am using Chrome Version 45.0.2454.85 m on a Windows 10 Platform.

When I check in the zotero extension the following error message is listed
[JavaScript Error: "Attempting to use a disconnected port object" {file: "extensions::messaging" line: 70}]

When I submit a report I am given back the ID:
Report ID: 530708577

I have standalone installed, I have removed and reloaded the chrome extension and it has been authorized.

Any thoughts?
  • I have the same problem in that I do not see the URL bar icon on any page. I checked the zotero extension and got this message (many times)

[JavaScript Error: "getTranslators: detection is already running" {file: "chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/zotero/translation/translate.js" line: 1023}]

I reported it and the ID is 1755071154.

When I click the site above from adam smith, I DO see the icon.

    Please advise. Thanks!
  • OK, so you do see the URL bar icon on some pages. Where are you _not_ seeing it? Note that it will only appear on supported pages. (The error is irrelevant)
  • I didn't see it on Amazon, but now I do. I don't see it on any journal webpages (I tested a handful), but now I see it in PubMed. Do I have to go through PubMed to save journal articles?
  • Zotero works with dozens of journal publishers, including all the big ones, but we really need specific URLs to say anything more.
  • I no longer see the Zotero icons in the URL bar either using Chrome with the Stand-Alone Connector. I tried the WorldCat site linked above. The debug ID is D1386756354. No icon is visible.
  • bvancil: That looks correct. It's possible another extension is interfering with the appearance of the icon. If it still happens after disabling other extensions, a Debug ID for the page load from Standalone may provide more info.
