duplicates collection isn't showing

I would like to remove duplicates from my library. I read the documentation, but I don't see any "Duplicate Items" collection. Since right clicking just brings up the browser (Chrome) context menu, I don't see how I can get my duplicates. Any help would be appreciated.
  • you're on the webpage, where none of this is possible. You'll want to download and install (if you haven't already) Zotero Standalone from zotero.org/download and perform those actions there.
  • Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation. It'd be nice if the docs made that clear. It's too bad that the webpage doesn't do the duplicate finding. I find it very useful to use zotero in conjunction with ADS wherein finding a reference allows for saving the reference and the full text article as a pdf. In some cases I haven't saved the full text and I find that it's easiest to just get the reference again which downloads the full text automatically. But then I'm left with a duplicate reference, one with the full text and one without. I'll see about getting the standalone version.
  • you can assume that everything in the Zotero documentation refers to the software rather than the webpage unless it explicitly says otherwise.
  • In my case even in zotero standalone I can't see the duplicates icon. I am pretty sure it used to be there, but not anymore. Any idea what I could do?
  • Either expand My Library if it's collapsed or right-click on My Library and select Show Duplicates.
  • Thanks, Dan, I have found it and the show duplicates icon is again visible at the bottom of the library. Thanks!
