Google Scholar Error
Hi,
I'm trying to download citations from google scholar with zotero, but after I get a bunch of them (100-200) Google scholar tells me they think I'm spyware and kicks me off. Google's help page was absolutely no help whatsoever, and since one of the main advantages to zotero is supposed to be compatibility with Google Scholar, I'm very confused as to why it's doing this. Has anybody had a similar problem? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Justin

TjowensGoogle Scholar does not like people grabbing to much at once. If you really want all those search results you will need to space things out a little bit. If you actually only need some of them, just be picky about what you pull in.

justinjoschkoThanks, Tjowens. Do you happen to know how many citations Google Scholar tolerates at once? If I have Google bring up less results per page, for example (I was doing 50) would that help? Unfortunately I do need to grab every result, and there are quite a few in my particular search. Thanks again!

TjowensI'm not sure on the specifics. But I don't believe the issue is how many you grab at once, but rather how many total items you grab in a specific period. So if you had 15 browser windows, each with 15 items in them, and you quickly grabbed each page of search results you could probably get in just as much trouble. It is probably best to space out grabbing your items.
