Pulling Journal Information

I am new to Zotero and have loved it so far but I have experienced some difficulty when pulling journal information off of the internet. I would say about 50% of the time when I have a journal open, it just pulls a PDF, rather than autofilling all the information. Is there a way to fix this? Or to then pull the information from the PDF, rather than have to type it out? I am using Firebox. Thank you!

    the best place to click the URL bar icon is usually on the abstract page of a journal article. You'd get just the PDF only when you're already looking at the PDF in your browser.

    If you do need to pull in the info for a PDF, see https://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata , but the quality of data is lower than what you'd get from the publisher (e.g. no DOI, no abstract, occasionally other errors).
