my understanding is that SBL, while not explicit about it, does call for ibid. See https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/11114/no-ibid-for-sbl-style/#Item_6 for relevant correspondence (that's for the 1st edition, but the 2nd edition and webpage make no mention of any change regarding this).
