Safari Extension and Stand Alone and PDF

I'm using Safari and completed the error report as directed in a previous forum, see below, but Zotero will not pull the PDFs to save from an Ebscohost search.

Your error report has been submitted.

Report ID:1281418426
  • Your error report has been submitted.

    Report ID:1903729206

    Another issue.
  • if you're going through a proxy server for authentication, you won't get PDFs when importing from several sites (most notably EBSCO, Proquest, and Sciencedirect) and using Safari or Chrome.

Not sure if the 2nd error report ID is for the same problem?
  • So, then I have to pull directly from something like JSTOR? OR do I need to pull from the journal's website?

The second error report was the error that came up when I tried to pull a book from amazon.
  • it depends. You could also see if you can authenticate via VPN or if you find it faster to just download and attach the PDF.
Journal publishers are also often good.

JSTOR actually doesn't work terribly well with Safari specifically for rather complex reasons.

If you did receive an error importing from Amazon, we'd need a URL.
  • I was testing with Amazon to see if it would work with anything. Right now, all I can get Zotero to pull are the bibliography pages from Ebscohost, which isn't what I need it to do.

I'm a student and don't think I have the access to authenticate via VPN.

    Thanks for your help.
  • well, if (almost) everything fails, try step 5 here:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
    and restart Zotero and Safari.
