The range cannot be deleted error

I have been using Word 2007, APA format to update a paper that I have been working on. Just a few days ago I tried updating the bib after noticing that an author cited in the work did not appear in the bib. I found this odd because I was able to add new in-text citations to the document using zotero. When attempting to update I received the following error message: "zotero experienced an error updating your document. the range cannot be deleted." I searched these forums using the terms the range cannot be deleted and was unable to determine if there was a fix other than debugguing the document. I also have the most current version of Firefox, zotero 2.1.8 and the word plug in.

    No I am not using track changes. I even went through and made a copy of the doc and deleted the bib and it seemed to work again. However, when I opened the document again, I received the same update error.

    I am experiencing the same problem. Solution?

    This worked: I turned off track changes, then erased the citation in the text that I didn't want. I checked the bibliography to see whether the corresponding reference had disappeared...this took a while, after I hit "refresh" in the Zotero commands. After that, I was able to re-insert the correct citation as usual.
