Style request Vancouver French-Canada with brackets

Hi,
I'm looking for a brackets version of "Vancouver french-canada". That is:
- Citations in brackets
- Bibliography in french, just like in "vancouver (french-canada)" style (No change required at all!)

Could anybody help me with that one?

Merci beaucoup!
  • And just using regular Vancouver brackets with locale set to fr-CA isn't good enough?
  • Sorry But I don't understand what you mean by 'locale set to french-canada"...
  • For "generic" styles like Vancouver, Chicago Manual, or APA, you can set the language of citation styles under "Set Document Preferences" in the word processor add-on

Before I posted this request, my word processor (Word 2010) was indeed set on "vancouver (french-canada)". But then, my citations come in parenthesis, when I would like square brackets.
That is why I'm asking for help :) Hope I'm being clear... Sorry if I'm not.
  • Right, but that's not what I mean. You can install the style Vancouver (brackets) from zotero.org/styles and then change the _language_ of that style under Set Document Preferences.

    See the last bit here:

  • Ok. Maybe I should have started by saying that I use Zotero for Chrome...I can't see any "language" toolbar such as shown on your link...
Thanks for your help, anyway :)

there's no Zotero for Chrome. Presumably you mean Zotero Standalone. The language toolbar is available in your Word add-on either way, though only for styles (like Vancouver bracket) that don't already have a language set.
  • I didn't mean to hurt you or the Zotero community and yes, I mean Zotero standalone. I don't see ANY "language" toolbar anywhere, neither in Zotero nor in my Word add-on (Doc Pref) even when I choose Vancouver Brackets...I feel like a real Zotero-moron.
    Anyway, thanks again, Adamsmith
  • OK, let's start with your Zotero version. You can see that under "About Zotero" -- that's available both in the "Help" menu and under the gears (icon) menu.
If you're not using at least 4.0.28.7, you need to update.
Is your Zotero up to date?
  • adamsmith I love you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Merciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii; My Zotero was not up to date. It now is and yes, I see the language toolbar. I selected french and it's just absolutely parfait!
