Citation being placed beside word, not at the bottom as footnote

I'd like to see is I can get help on what I might be doing wrong. I put my cursor beside the word I want to reference, and it puts the book info right beside it, not as a footnote. I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?

which citation style are you using? Only some styles use footnotes, e.g. Chicago Manual (full note)

Chicago Manual is the one, but a few days back I tried others and they were working.

Could it be a "reinstall" problem? Cause I just installed it not long ago.

that looks like you're using the author date style or a different style altogether. That's not Chicago full note.

Look at Cardinal Ratzinger! I made sure that was Chicago full note
