Troublefree download Zotero/portable Firefox on USB stick

I could not download Zotero into portable Firefox when trying to download from the big "Download" buttom on the zotero.org page. Zotero downloaded and installed w/o any problem, though, from the following page:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3504

Hope it helps and thanks for Zotero and its updates. It replaced all reference software I own and tried.

    It sounds like you were having a problem with the Firefox add-on whitelist. We highly recommend installing from our site, not from Mozilla's add-on site. Please see our instructions.

    Thank you Sean, I had the - 228 error. I followed alternative procedure 1 in your ''instructions" link and managed to update zotero to the latest version in that way.

    I have zotero now on my laptop as well as on a memory stick in the portable version. The laptop version updates automatically. Can I expect the portable version to do the same or should I uninstall zotero on the laptop?
