NeoOffice 3.0 compatibility

Are there plans to have a zotero plug in for NeoOffice 3.0? Currently NeoOffice 3.0 is available through the Early Access Program, requiring a donation, but it will be available for free mid-March.

Should I try the OOo extension that is 3.0 compatible?

My understanding is that NeoOffice plugin development is going to be on the back-burner with the release of OOo3 for OS X.

The Intel version is available from their main page. If, like me, you're still using a PPC, it's less obvious where to get it.

I use the PPC version and am quite happy with it. I find it's a little more responsive than NeoOffice 2.x was.
  • We haven't tested NeoOffice 3, but you could try the 1.0b4 plugin for OOo3—it should theoretically work, except it will try to activate OpenOffice rather than NeoOffice after the Add Citation dialog comes up, which may or may not be a fatal error. The plugin for NeoOffice was never updated to be compatible with OOo3 code.

The new Python-based plugin for OpenOffice (currently 2.0a2) will almost certainly work, but it requires the 1.5 Sync Preview.
  • Thank you both for your answers.

I'm very happy with NeoOffice 3.0 EAP, so I'm not interested in switching to OOo 3.0 for Mac a the moment.

But I did try the 1.0b4 plugin, and it does work. The only problem is that the toolbar doesn't seem to get installed. Any ideas on how to correct that?

I can create my own custom toolbar, but I don't have access to the zotero icons for it.
  • Hello, that's the same for me.
The toolbar doesn't seem to get installed!! help
