Importing abstracts

Hi,

I imported a journal article from the Journal of Infectious Diseases which has an abstract. However, in the abstracts space in the pane to the right in standalone Zotero I am unable to see any abstract. Note, I use the chrome browser. Do I have to change a setting somewhere?

    Maybe it matters if I import from Pubmed versus Google scholar?

    Yes, for the time being it does matter. PubMed is one of the best sources to import metadata from and will include abstract. Google Scholar metadata is far worse.

    you'll never get abstracts importing from Google Scholar, correct.

    You'll pretty much always get them from PubMed and usually from journal homepages.

    Google Scholar is excellent for identifying articles from journals that are not in PubMed. However, it is essential that you click through to the publisher's site to access the metadata. Be sure to double-check that you have linked to the right publisher and journal. Sometimes, due to the way that GS scrapes websites for data, the link is wrong.
