Failure to insert citation

I re-installed Zotero for Firefox, including the Word plug-in. I restored my database from my account. When trying to incert a citation, a pop up window appears stating:
Invalid field 'false' in ItemFields. is BaseField ().
What is going on?
How can I fix this?

Please help!
  • do you happen to cite a computerProgram? If so that's a known issue -- likely just removing and re-adding that citation will fix it. We're also working on a real fix.
  • Thanks Adam. Unfortunately, I was citing a very normal journal paper, which does exist in my data base.
  • it's not about the citation you're inserting at the moment the error occurs -- it's about any citation anywhere in the document.
  • Thanks Adam.
Do you mean that I need to re-import all citations from my account?
  • no -- I'm saying: if there's a computerProgram cited anywhere in that document, that's almost certainly causing the problem. Find that citation, remove it and re-insert it (again, in the document, not in Zotero).
  • Got it. There are a number of programs cited.
    Thank you very much, indeed!
  • I had this problem too on a Mac running Office 2011. I removed the one citation I had where type=computer program, and then chose the new style in "set document preferences" and everything updated perfectly. Nice! But you should still fix this in the next update.
  • This should actually already been fixed with 4.0.28.1 -- is that the version you were using when this occurred?
