Copy a Search

I have imported my database from EndNote and wish to recreate some of the searches. Is there some way to make this easier by copying a zotero search and then changing the parameters? Or even better can I import the endnote searches? (I can export the smartgroups into an xml file, if that is any help)

    Are you referring to the EndNote's Import/Export Smart Groups plugin? Mostly just curious how you're planing to export the smart group.

    In any case, there is currently no way to import/export saved searches, so you would have to create them manually. I don't recall anyone else requesting this before, so I doubt that we're going to put a lot of effort into making it possible in the near future.

    yes I was referring to the endnote smartgroups export plugin. I'll put it another way. I truly wish to use Zotero, but can't justify recreating over 1200 groups. I have attempted to do this before and have been mostly successful, but his is a deal breaker for me. The other problem, which I have found a third party solution to, GiMeSpace Desktop Extender, is the lack of a scrollbar in the ostensibly unlimited search. This practically limits the search on a windows box to 25 items. The fact that editing such a search is even more restrictive baffles me. Why can't one edit a search, rename it something else and change some parameters?

    1200 groups? Somewhat curious what kind of searches you're trying to create that makes you create so many. There might be better ways to go about this.

    I'm not really sure what you're referring to. Is this about an EndNote problem or Zotero?
