save freezing or error message

Hello,

I've had two (related?) problems: When I click the zotero icon in my browser, it either shows a box saying "Save to MyLibrary" indefinitely, or shows the same box with an error message. The box is the same one that normally pops up to save; it's just not actually saving.

Example site: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00382-014-2357-4/fulltext.html

My configuration:
Mac OS X 10.10.3
Zotero version 4.0.27.7
connector: most recent Safari connector (downloaded yesterday)
browser: Safari

I've followed instructions on the troubleshooting page, with no luck.

I've reported the error, but don't get a Report ID.

Any help is much appreciated; thank you!
  • I've reported the error, but don't get a Report ID.
    what happens exactly?
  • The "report error" button turns grey so it's not clickable anymore, but no report ID shows up anywhere.
  • Could you instead submit a Debug log from both Safari and Zotero Standalone for an attempt to save the page you linked to above? https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output
  • Ok, just did that. Debug ID is: D1366235219.
  • You should have submitted twice and gotten two IDs (for the same action). One for Safari and one for Zotero Standalone.
  • Oh, got it. Ok, redid it.
    Safari debug ID: D988504254
    Standalone ID: D1261211907

Then the same for HighWire 2.0. Works for me.
  • What's your Zotero Safari extension version? The 4.0.27.7 is the Standalone version.
  • I just updated my extension, and it works now! It does seem a little strange - I had tried updating the extension before starting this thread, with no results. I also only downloaded the extension yesterday (new computer). I'm embarrassed to say, I can't figure out how to see the version number for the Safari extension.

Thank you for all the help, and for working on such an awesome product!
