Zotero for Chrome/Opera not detecting Zotero Standalone
Hi all,
Thank you in advance for your kindly advice.
I have the latest Zotero for Chrome/Opera extension installed, using latest Opera Browser 30.0.1835.125, and have the latest Zotero Standalone 4.0.27.6 in MS Windows 7 Professional -- everything was working perfectly x several weeks of intermittent use until yesterday. The problem is that when I try to click the icon in my Opera browser to tell Zotero to import the information from a scientific article, it doesn't detect Zotero Standalone even though it is running (confirmed by looking in the extensions-specific preferences in Opera, where the message "Zotero Standalone is currently unavailable." is displayed and does not change after pressing the "Update status" button). Instead it tries to log-in to my Zotero account to add the reference to my network-stored library, but unfortunately my account is full so it can't add it in that manner. As a result, nothing gets added to my local Zotero Standalone library. I have tried restarting both applications several times but it doesn't seem to correct the problem.
I would like any suggestions for making the Opera extension recognize that Zotero Standalone is running.
Incidentally, I did install a Windows security patch yesterday, but I just remembered that it was in fact working yesterday morning after the restart, so I don't believe it is related.

So take-home lesson for anyone else who encounters this:
- Opera Turbo appears to break Opera's ability to communicate with Zotero Standalone.
Just FYI...
I was having this problem and this solved it!
