Zotero on Windows tablet PC- Samyak Veera

Has any one tried Zotero on a windows 8.1 tablet PCs such as Asus transformer book, HP Pavilion x2 10 inch, or Acer switch 10 inch? All these have 2GB of RAM and CPUs like Intel Atom Z3735F.

I want to know if Zotero is fluent on such a hardware and if can handle entries up to 1000.

Is it possible to launch Zotero, a PDF reader, like Foxit reader, and Firefox simultaneously?

Thanks

  • I usually use an old MacBook when I'm not on my desktop. Sometimes, I must connect to a network that will only accept connections from Windows machines (a long story). I can work with an early 2013 Asus transformer book using Firefox, Zotero, and a pdf reader. However, the machine has 4 GB RAM. My model also has a larger display and (I think) a somewhat faster microprocessor. You may experience significant delays as operations that usually are supported within RAM must be swapped to the machine's drive? Are you looking at a tablet with a mechanical HD, an SSD or a hybrid? How large is that storage? I use this machine only to connect to the web at one particular library that has access to a database I find essential. I find that the workflow is a bit slow but I think that most of the effort is taking place within RAM. I do not use Zotero with a word processor on this machine. I do not sync from this machine. I only gather metadata that I export in MODS format to a "thumb drive." At the start of each work session, there are zero items in the Zotero library on that machine.

Others here may have different experiences.
