Thanks... though I'd appreciate further help. I got the references into Zotero: I tried the Anystyle method of parsing the bibliographic references, and then imported them into Bibliotxt and from there imported them into Zotero; so far so good.

I'd like all this in one folder, but I wound up with multiple folders in Zotero, one for each batch parsed by Anystyle, which wants small batches. The paper had about 150 references, now spread among 6 folders.

My objective is that I'd like these references in a single folder associated with, or labeled by, the scholarly paper from which I took them; somehow "clustering" or grouping them so that other folders in the same thematic "Collection" might be used for additional references obtained from OTHER source PDFs; am unsure how go about this.

I tried "Merging" without success, based on advice on the forum suggesting that the only way to do this currently is to export a folder's contents and then reimport it into the other, targeted folder. So, I exported the contents of folder 2 to then import it into folder 1.

After opening folder 1 in Zotero, I tried importing the folder 2 rdf file I had just created by exporting, but the result was that I now had TWO versions of folder 2 in Zotero, not one. So merging this way appears not to work.

I'd appreciate any guidance; thanks! Doesn't combining into a single folder seem as though it would be a common, reference-organizing task; nothing esoteric? That is, I assume that others have been down this path and figured out how to manage to the objective stated above. Maybe I'm making some inappropriate assumptions. If so, please correct me.
