trouble with add-on Paper Machines

I'm a first-time user of zotero. I'd like to use the add-on Paper Machines to perform some topic modeling on a set of OCRed PDFs. I have 18 uploaded to Zotero and "extracted text for Paper Machines" but only getting errors and such when I try to run any of the visualizations I get "IndexError: index out of range: -1". Any advice from the community is most welcome!

I have call to use Paper Machines myself as well this summer, and I ran into the same error. After some experimentation, I found that PM will work in an up-to-date Zotero installation when the computer is set to use Java ver. 6 by default. (Java 7 is now normal, I think, and Java 8 seems to be on its way - PM doesn't seem to work with either.)
