Start-up error in Zotero Standalone

Hello, I just tried to start my version of Zotero standalone but received an error message. First, I get a pop-up that says "The Zotero database 'zotero' appears to have become corrupted. Please restart Zotero to attempt an automatic restore from the last backup."

When I click "Restart now," I get a second error message: "Warning: The Zotero database 'zotero.sqlite' appears to have become corrupted. Your data was restored from the last automatic backup made on 6/16/2015...."

I've submitted an error report. The report ID is 880497510.

Thanks in advance.
  • That error generally means what it says. You should check your database integrity from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences.

It's possible for this to happen in rare situations. If it happens regularly (after repairing the database once if the integrity check tells you to), it indicates a serious problem with your system (failing disk, filesystem corruption, having Zotero on a network drive, etc.).
  • Thanks. After I checked for database integrity, I received the following message: "Errors were found in your Zotero database. You can use the database repair tool at http://zotero.org/....to attempt to correct these errors."

The page says that I should make a backup before proceeding with the repair. How do I make a backup?
  • Never mind. I just figured it out. Thanks.
