I lost all my data (in Standalone)! I don't know where is my library and archives

Hi everybody!

I lost all my data (in Standalone)! I don't know where is my library and archives.
I can't find the 'zotero.sqlite' file.
As well when I'm trying to generate a ID Report I received a message «Error: Invalid or corrupt file».

When I tried to open the Zotero Standalone in my desktop the message was:

«Database upgrade error

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED) [mozIStorageConnection.executeSimpleSQL]" nsresult: "0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js :: Zotero.DBConnection.prototype.query :: line 149" data: no] [QUERY: INSERT INTO itemTypesCombined SELECT itemTypeID, typeName, display, 0 AS custom FROM itemTypes UNION SELECT customItemTypeID + 10000 AS itemTypeID, typeName, display, 1 AS custom FROM customItemTypes] [ERROR: unable to open database file]»

I'm really desesperate because I have in Zotero 3 years of PhD! :'-(

Thank you for the attention and the help!
  • Have you checked the permissions of the Zotero data directory?

Have you tried disabling any security software temporarily so that you can check whether that software is restricting access to your Zotero directory?

    Hi!
thank you very much for your answer. The permissions are for: System, rosebarboza, administrators and interactive.
Yes. I disabled Avast and iObit but this didn't work.

    How I could fix it?
  • We can't really help you with the specifics of this, since they depend on your particular system, but the Zotero data directory and all files within it need to be owned and writable by your user account. This error happens when something — either permissions or security software — is interfering with Zotero's ability to write to the disk.
  • Hi,
    thank you for the attention.
yes, i think probably I have a virus or something like that interfering in my operational system.
i'm looking for a helpdesk here.
    thank you, again.
