Referencing paragraphs in case law

Hello

Possibly a bit of a beginner's questions, but I'm afraid I couldn't find the answer on the forum or Google.

When I reference case law, I want to reference specific paragraphs. However, the field names I can see are:
Item Type
Case Name
Author
Abstract
Reporter
Reporter Volume
Court
Docket Number
First Page
History
Date Decided
Language
Short Title
URL
Accessed
Rights
Extra
Date Added
Modified

I can't see where I'd enter paragraph numbers there.

At the moment, I am cloning the references within Zotero, and then appending "paragraph [number]" to the end of the Case Name.

This is the best work around I have at the moment.

If someone could help me with this, I would be most grateful.

Thanks
  • Paragraph numbers for law cases are used only in pinpoints, which you would enter when inserting or editing a cite in a document. You wouldn't want to record them in the database.
  • specifically see https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage (pinpoints are entered in the dropdown menu that defaults to pages)
  • Thank you for your help, F Bennett and Adam Smith, this was a really basic question that to which I really should have been able to find the answer.

I hope a Googler in the future will come across this thread and it will save them using up your time in such a manner.

    Thanks!

nono -- you should feel like the threshold before posting here is low. We don't want people wasting their time trying to find answers to questions we can answer in seconds.
  • I was looking for a while, thanks.
