Error in Safari plugin for Web of Science

Hello,

I was importing metadata from web of science search results in Safari (when the zotero button becomes a folder), which was going nice.
But when I decided not to import and selected 'cancel' or closed the window,
Zotero imported everything from the search (~ 90 search results), so created several duplicates of these.

I'm guessing I can go to Duplicate items and merge all of these, but is there a way to properly cancel an import with the folder button?

My report ID is: 1441964866

Thanks!
  • Sorry about that. I think I fixed it, so please update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now, restart browser, and try again.

But if I'm right, then there's potentially another issue. When you scroll your mouse over the folder icon, does it say "Save to Zotero (COinS)"? (or something similar, but it should have COinS in it) If so, could you post a URL of the page where this is happening? Zotero should be using the Web of Science translator, which should yield better results (and would not have had this issue), but it's apparently not detecting the page correctly.
  • Thanks.
I updated, restarted the browser, and started again, but it is doing the same thing.

When I put the mouse over, it says "Save to Zotero (Web of Science)," so it must be something about Web of Science, I think.

    Sure, it is:

  • OK, I can confirm. This does appear to be a bug in Zotero. Unfortunately, it will require an update to the Safari plugin, which will take longer to release.
  • Actually, we were able to patch this up in the translator, so update your translators as per above and try again. Let us know if it's still not fixed.
  • Great, that worked, thank you!
