  • Zotero doesn't have special support for Oxford DNB, so what's happening is that Zotero is picking up the DOI on the page (10.1093/ref:odnb/37254 at the bottom of the page) and querying metadata for that DOI. Generally, the issue at this point is that the DOI is not found on crossref.org, but in this case, the DOI actually exists, but there is no title supplied for the book chapter (http://www.crossref.org/openurl/?pid=zter:zter321&url_ver=Z39.88-2004&&rft_id=info:doi/10.1093/ref:odnb/37254&noredirect=true&format=unixref). Currently, Zotero rejects any metadata imports from web pages that do not have a title, because that generally indicates that we're picking up junk metadata.

We'll take a look and see if we can optimize this a bit more, since I think this particular issue has come up before.
