No sync from Webdav to Zotero, but OK the other way.

Error report 9056744

I had Windows XP previously with zotero in Firefox, but after I upgraded to Windows 7, I cannot retrieve the files from my webdav server, which previously worked fine (4shared.com). Strangely, however, newly added files do synchronize nicely to the server.
When I try to synchronize manually, the green arrow starts spinning as usual, but after a few seconds I get an error report.
I tried deleting extension and sqlite files as proposed in previous threads with no success.
Hope someone has a solution!
Best Regards
Claus
  • Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync attempt that fails?
  • what's the size of the database (number of attachments)? 4shared has a maximum number of folders (5000) you can have in WebDAV, so that could well be what's going on if you have more than 2500 Zotero attachments.
  • Hi again
    Hi again

Now, when I try to sync to webdav, no error occurs, but the library is still not sync'ed however. Strangely enough, all items in my library are marked with a blue dot, indicating that the file is there, but when I click on the item, Zotero says "Cannot locate etc", and the blue dot turns white in the middle.
    I have createde a debug ID D773954173.
    My library has 1666 items.

  • If the sync is going through, we'd need a Debug ID for an attempt to open a file that produces the error.
  • OK, here it is: D803430307

  • OK, look for a 8EPIWNS8 directory within 'storage' within your Zotero data directory. Is there anything in there? Are there 8EPIWNS8.prop and 8EPIWNS8.zip files on your WebDAV server?
  • No 8EPIWNS8 in my Zotero data directory, but both 8EPIWNS8.prop and 8EPIWNS8.zip are in my WebDAV server (apparently created last year)
  • OK, I deleted the two files you mentioned on my webDAV server, reset my file sync history, but still no sync (no error report is generated, the green sync arrow just spins for a couple of seconds and then nothing happens)
  • Not sure why you deleted those two files — the point would've been to see if they sync down after resetting file sync history. You'll have to start at the beginning of those steps.
