Retrieve metadata for pdf - unexpected error occurs

Report ID: 1998801282
Every time, I try to retrieve metadata for pdf, it says 'an unexpected error occured'. Both when I do it, when I download the text from some kind of database and when I do it by 'right-clicking' when it is downloaded. I have updated both firefox and zotero.
I hope, you can help me.
  • Have you tried updating your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now?
  • Yes it says that it is up to date
  • Could you submit a Debug log for an attempt to retrieve metadata? https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output
  • Also, does importing from Google Scholar work? Can you import items from https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=Zotero
  • Debug log: D538116116

Yes I can import fro google scholar. but not with metadata

  • AnnaIM, could you also produce a Debug log for importing one article from https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=Zotero ?

Also, I'm not entirely clear what you mean by this
Yes I can import from google scholar. but not with metadata
Which OS are you using? Seems like you're using Firefox for web browsing. When performing "Retrieve Metadata", are you using Zotero inside Firefox, or do you have Zotero Standalone installed (Zotero window opens up outside of Firefox)?

Dan, can you see from the report ID in the first post if there are any BibTeX-related add-ons installed? Also, is this ZSA or ZFx?

Firefox. No other extensions at present. AnnaIM, can you make a ZIP of the 'translators' directory in your Zotero data directory and then do a Reset Translators from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences? If that works, could you email the ZIP file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
