capture icon does not appear in browser

I have installed both the standalone and the Word add-on, and I don't see the capture icon in my browser. Any advice?

    I lost the zotero capture icon when Firefox updated last week, and despite downloading every new version available the icon will not appear. Not on amazon, nor NY Times

    as the 2nd link that Dan posted says, please run through these:

    and post all the info requested under 11. if 1-10 doesn't help.

    Adam, thank you for responding. . .Despite downloading the Zotero and Firefox new version multiple times yesterday, the downloads this morning were successful and the icon appeared! Why did the icon disappear following an automatic update in February? What happened? Should users be wary of responding to Firefox screen messages to update? Is this likely to happen again?

    I can't tell you what exactly happened, but Zotero has always been compatible with the latest Firefox release and you should definitely keep your Firefox up to date.
