Web-based storage

Another addition I would like to see is a web-based storage system. I work on multiple computers. No matter which computer I am on at any time, my Zotero material on the other computers is not available to me. That's a real inconvenience.

I realize that you probably don't want to provide a storage service. Perhaps you can work out an arrangement with Google or some other web company that provide storage.

Thanks.

I realize that you probably don't want to provide a storage service.
The roadmap tells us something different:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/development_roadmap
    Zotero 1.5: Server sync
"This version of Zotero offers users the ability to sync their individual collections with the Zotero Server. Through server syncing, users can access and update their Zotero libraries from multiple locations."

Note that Zotero 1.5 is not yet released (although early alpha releases, called Sync Preview, are available for testing). But web-based storage is definitely planned.
  • Some people are using Sync Preview to utilize third-party web-based storage. For example, you can use Sync Preview with JungleDisk to store Zotero data on Amazon S3.
