Can't get plugin in Word Office 2007 w/ chrome+standalone
Hello,
so I used Firefox has my default browser and the Zotero plugin in Word Office 2007. It worked like a charm. Then I started having non-zotero problems related with Mozilla Firefox crashing, and switched to chrome.
I installed the zotero extension in chrome. And I installed the zotero standalone. I synced my library. I went to zotero standalone tools and installed "Microsoft Word Add-In". Everything should be fine, right?
The problem appeared when I now try to click the word plugin within Word Office 2007, this message pops-up: "Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure Firefox is running and try again". Now, to insert citation I have to have the zotero standalone open and running. This is very annoying, since previously with Firefox every process was much smoother and faster.
Do I really have to open and run zotero standalone every time I want to inert a citation now?
Thanks

You should also have Standalone open, btw., as you add items from Chrome. You'll get better results and it's the only way to import items into a specific collection.
(I'm not really sure what the problem with this is, though. Why is it "very annoying" to have Standalone open?)
It's not that "annoying" really, it's just that I use to work with my browser open. So, when I used firefox and wanted to insert a citation in Word, I wouldn't have to pay attention whether if Firefox was running or not.
Now I just have to get used to have Zotero standalone running. Actually, it's a very useful piece of software to manage my library.
Thanks again for the clarifications!
