Lost my entire library!!?

I've had zotero for a while but not been actively using it. Am about to begin writing up properly and tried to get access to it. Now i can and there's nothing at all in my library?? I know i had my bibliography stored plus extra articles etc I'd come across. Where could they have gone and can i retrieve them?

    Beyond that, we'll need some more info on what you're using (start with a Report ID) and where exactly you're looking.

    Before my old laptop died I assumed that my zotero backup would be uploaded to the new one - as the technician said EVERYTHING was coming over. But when I went to use it there was nothing there and nothing when I followed the Zotero search suggestions.The old laptop died and now I think I have lost 3 years of referencing! Is there anything anyone can suggest?

    Start a new thread please. See here: https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data to give you a sense for the types of files you should be searching for in your back-up.
    It's possible Zotero would not find your old profile data depending on where/how it was saved, but it may still be there.
