Transfert from Zotero FF to Zotero SA.

Dear all,
I have changed my computer and on the old computer, I had Zotero FF and on my new computer, I've installed Zotero SA.
Unfortunately, I haven't enough time at this moment and I didn't exported/imported my library from the old to the new computer and begin an new collection on the new computer.
I'd like now to merge the two collections in one on the new computer I've used the export function of the Zotero FF with the attachment option for my pdf but after 2 days, it's not finish and there is only 3 or 4 reference exported.
Is it normal? Is there something I do not correctly? What can I do?
Thanks for your answers.
Bastien.

Not exactly sure why this would be taking so long - that's obviously not normal - but in either case, this is not the right way to transfer your library (this is). At this point, since you already started a new library, the best way to merge your libraries would be to sync both computers with the same account. If you have a lot of PDFs, you don't have to sync them, just sync the metadata (that doesn't count towards your storage quota) and then transfer the contents of the "storage" folder (in your Zotero data directory) manually.

    Thanks for your answer
Just to be sure, you suggest to sync only the reference of my library with sync and transfer my pdf manually. But how Zotero SA will link again the pdf to the reference
I try and if necessary, I ask more
  • To be clear, you can sync the PDFs as well if you want to (it may be helpful for you beyond just merging your libraries), but you may need to buy more storage (or use WebDAV sync) if you have a large amount of PDFs.

If you do choose to not sync PDFs, make sure to copy only the _contents_ of the "storage" directory (you should not need to overwrite anything). Also, we highly recommend making a backup copy of both of your Zotero storage directories (see the linked page about storage directory)
  • Thank for the explanation.
It seems that my pdf library is not so high and the free storage could be sufficient at this moment.
I don't know the webdav sync and I explore this option as soon as I have time for that.
    Thanks again for your help
