DOI in APA 6.edition
Hi everyone,
I have a small problem: when I enter the DOI of an article and want this to be shown in my reference list later, I always have the URL of all dois as well. Just to make sure what I mean:
Crews, F. T., & Boettiger, C. A. (2009). Impulsivity, frontal lobes and risk for addiction. Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 93(3), 237–247. http://doi.org/10.1016/j.pbb.2009.04.018
I do not want to have this http:// doi.org/-Part; I simply want to have it this way:
Crews, F. T., & Boettiger, C. A. (2009). Impulsivity, frontal lobes and risk for addiction. Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 93(3), 237–247.
doi: 10.1016/j.pbb.2009.04.018
I have already deleted all urls in the right part of my Zotero-library. But this was no help. What have I done wrong?
Would be great if anybody had an idea what to do about it.
Thanks a lot in advance.

just find where it says
"http://doi.org/" and replace it with "doi: " .
General instructions are here: http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step
remember to change the style title and id, otherwise this will be overwritten on updates.

In addition, here is the response from the official APA style support line regarding using "http://dx.doi.org/" versus the shorter "http://doi.org/" in references: Because APA has indicated that the shorter form is acceptable, and it is preferred by doi.org (http://www.doi.org/doi_handbook/3_Resolution.html#3.7.3), we chose to go with "http://doi.org/" for the Zotero style.

The new preferred format is now with HTTPS.
