recommended update - Turabian 8th edition (full note)

Turabian 8th edition (full note) currently includes the "place" field both in the note and in the bibliography. I don't believe it should be included in either (17.6.1). I think it should look like the Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (full note) style (which ignores the field).
  • for which item type? Chicago includes the place of publication for books in both notes and bibliography. Are you saying Turabian says not to?

My apologies, this is in reference to a thesis.

    As an example:

Ahn, Jeongseop. “Segmentation Features in New Testament Manuscripts: An Overlooked Resource for Editors and Translators.” PhD diss., New Orleans: New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, 2012.

I'd like to leave "New Orleans" in the "place" field, but have Turabian 8 (full note) ignore the field like the Chicago styles do (and leave out the colon).

    Thank you.
  • The style is now fixed. The updated version will appear on the repository within 30mins (check the timestamp). Update your copy of the style by clicking "Update Now" in the General tab of the Zotero preferences.

Styles also update automatically within 24hs for Zotero 4.0+
In an existing document, you may have to switch to a different style and back for the changes to take effect once the style is updated.
Any further problems please let us know & thanks for reporting
  • Excellent, thank you!
