Can't save from any databases

Report ID: 1013604329

Hi

I can't save any citations or PDFs from any of the databases I have been using (e.g. PsychINFO, proquest, EBSCO etc) - the folder appears in the address bar and when I click it the citations come up in a list - when I select them the dialogue box says saving but then it says an error occured while saving this item.

I have a macbook pro and have the latest versions of Firefox and Zotero. I have tried resetting translators and I dont' have any other add ons other than the Zotero ones. My standalone Zotero is not open.

Thanks for your help
  • Please let us know the version numbers of Firefox and Zotero specifically. (sorry for asking, but we frequently have people saying "latest version" and then either using a beta or an outdated version because the update function isn't working).

    After that, run through:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
We're particularly interested in the information requested in the last step.
  • Firefox version 36
    Zotero versio 4.0.26.1

e.g. website where it doesn't work
    http://ovidsp.tx.ovid.com.ezproxy.auckland.ac.nz/sp-3.14.0b/ovidweb.cgi?&S=LDHBFPLAPIDDDBINNCLKBEJCACPHAA00&Project+Item+Display=active|Htxrdc-be13%3aP1035%3aN20150224T220214%3aS2|project&IECachePoison=22235976.9602434

    I'm using Zotero for Firefox

I think the translator is Eric? And another one that doesn't work is Proquest?

    Thanks for your help
  • @Dan - what does the error say?

I'd like to see how general that issue is, so could you please try here?
    http://www.worldcat.org/title/wealth-of-nations-books-i-iii/oclc/8424650&referer=brief_results

and then also, if you could try JSTOR, while going through your institution's proxy, e.g. try:

    http://www.jstor.org.ezproxy.auckland.ac.nz/stable/10.3764/aja.119.1.0137
  • It worked fine with those two links
  • OK, it's possible that some Ovid databases are broken. Proquest, on the other hand, should just work. Can you confirm this is broken on Proquest, too, and if so, provide both the URL as you see it and either a permalink or a way to get to your search results (databases searched and search query)?
  • I can reproduce the OVID issue and am looking into it. Looks like they changed the way they serve RIS exports.

Also, FYI, it seems that it's not very safe to post OVID links with session IDs in them (S=.....), since I am now logged into OVID using your UoA account. It's good for troubleshooting in this case, but you should probably remove the link from your post.
