Upgrade StorageLink pdf files not retrieving metadata
Hi! I am a newbie to Zotero. Although pdf files that are copied to Zotero library work fine when I try to retrieve metadata, none of the same pdfs work for retrieving metadata when I am using linked files. The type of pdfs are journal articles from pubmed database - it happens with >30 files from my hard disk I have tried already. I am using windows 8.1. Thanks for your help!

aurimasJust to be clear, this happens with _all_ linked PDFs? What's the message that you get when trying to retrieve metadata for those files? Can you produce a Debug ID for this action? https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output

panpap76Having tried again, it seems that it happens with some file folders but not with others. A folder from desktop with pdfs works fine but not subfolders from my C hard disk (though the pdfs if saved (copied) under zotero can retrieve metadata). Debug ID is D1165328746. Thanks!

dstillmanI'm guessing it's the extended characters in the folder names in the path — it's possible that doesn't currently work on Windows.
