Upgrade StorageAuthor initial only sometimes present in in-text citation
I have two authors with the same surname, say A. Smith and B. Smith, whose papers I cite in my document. For this reason, for citations refering to each of their papers, the first name initial is also used in the citation field. However, this is not always the case, and the inconsistency makes the document look unprofessionally edited.
For instance, I have a citation that looks like this:
(A. Smith, Brown, 2014)
and another one that looks like this:
(Johnson, Smith, 2011)
In both cases, Smith refers to the author A. Smith.
Can anyone please help me understand this? Why isn't the initial also used in the second citation? Thanks!
