Zotero doesn't save from Windows Chrome

ID = 1991000112
I have read a lot of posts with a lot of decisions, been to to amazon trying to save to my library The wealth of Nations countless times and still cant get this thing working. I reinstalled everything - chrome, ZSA, connector, turned off all other extesions in Chrome - nothing helps - I still cannot see a grey or blue mark that shows I can save the item and get message

[JavaScript Error: "getTranslators: detection is already running" {file: "chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/zotero/translation/translate.js" line: 1000}]

I really don't know what to do, I'm stuck and get continue with my ref list. Would be very grateful for any help.
  • Could you provide a debug ID (different from report ID):
    https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#zotero_connectors_chrome_and_safari

    for loading or reloading
    http://www.worldcat.org/title/wealth-of-nations-books-i-iii/oclc/8424650&referer=brief_results
    from the Zotero Chrome connector.

    Also, have you ever had this working? I.e. are we 100% sure you're looking for the URL bar icon in the right place?
  • Sorry, been out of this windows comp who cant save to zotero. On my mac by the way everything's working smoothly with chrome and zotero.
    So I know where the bar icon is:)

    Debug Id # D156657865

    It looks like you have misconfigured proxy settings or security software. If you're using a system proxy, make sure 127.0.0.1 is listed as an excluded host. If you're running firewall software, make sure 127.0.0.1 is whitelisted.

    Additionally, if you load https://repo.zotero.org/repo/code/32d59d2d-b65a-4da4-b0a3-bdd3cfb979e7?version=4.0.21 in Chrome, do you see some code with "translatorID" at the top, or do you receive an error of some sort?
  • Sorry, I dont know how to reconfigure these settings.
    Translator ID appears.
  • You'll have to ask someone (e.g., IT department that administers your proxy server, if you're using one) or check the documentation of your security software. We could possibly tell you a bit more if you told us which of those you think actually applies in your case, but this isn't really a Zotero issue. It's a misconfiguration on your system that's breaking fundamental networking behavior.
  • I guess I'll go with Firefox Zotero, there is no trouble to have an extra browser, and Firefox Zotero as I learned has more options than standalone. Thanks for your help, anyway!
