IEEE et al. error

According to the IEEE Citation Reference, "et al." should be used when three or more names are given.

In the current version, the IEEE style in Zotero does not generate et al. for more than three authors. It should be corrected.
  • IEEE publications must list names of all authors, up to six names. If there are more than six names listed, use et al. after the first author.

(if you're reporting errors in styles, please always cite a specific section or page number of the official style guide)
  • Page 7 of the manual:
For three or more authors: ANDERSEN et al.: DYNAMICAL MODEL OF DC WAVEGUIDE LASERS
  • not sure which manual you're referring to. Given that IEEE doesn't cap authors or titles, I'm assuming you're looking in the wrong place. The official IEEE style guide is the one I link to and it has the instructions I cite with respect to et al.
  • Thanks for the reply. Looking at the document you linked, there are references on how to use "et al." on different pages:

    9 and 36

and some examples on different parts of the document.

    Apparently, IEEE allows cap authors.
  • you're looking at the instructions for the Running Header, not the bibliography.
