Database upgrade error

I'm working with a Zotero library that's been copied from another computer using a USB. It was all working fine for a while, but then some of the files weren't copying as I did the drag and drop, I would have to restart Zotero, or unplug and plug back in the USB to make it work again. Then today I received this alert when attempting to open Zotero:

I can't get in to Zotero at all to change preferences or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Is there no error before that?

    If not, can you provide either a Debug ID for the startup (or, if necessary, the logged output in an email to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread) using the "Enable after restart" option?

    No, no error before that. It just says

    Alert

    Database upgrade error

    Followed by the code I copied above.

    I can't get into Zotero at all, that alert comes up when I try to open the application.

    OK, you should be able to generate real-time debug output and email that.
