Deleted files off computer, cannot open Standalone, what to do next?
I am using a university computer that I am not very familiar with, and have been using zotero on it, either the Firefox plugin or the Standalone version. Firefox endlessly freezes on this computer so I started relying on the Standalone. I kept getting a message saying 'there was an error starting zotero', and the add-on for Chrome wasn't working either. It got to the stage where I wasn't able to open zotero anymore.
I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, and then deleted all the zotero-related files off my computer (this is after a few weeks of confusion), thinking that I had a copy of them in the library in the zotero.
I'm now completely lost, no idea if I can get these files back. When I try to download the Firefox extension from the downloads page it tells me Windows can't open the file (it will install from the options page of the browser, however). The Standalone version now says 'Your Zotero profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.' when I try to open it, which makes sense.
I'm sorry for starting a thread if it's a simple issue that's already been covered, but to be honest I'm really lost here and don't want to check/uncheck any random boxes or play around with it in case I get myself into a further mess.
Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!

aurimasI'd suggest creating a fresh Firefox profile and installing Zotero. If you succeed and Zotero opens properly with an empty library, we can see if there is anything that can be recovered. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems#w_reset-firefox-to-its-default-state Make backups of your default Zotero data directory first though. See https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#default_locations
