Secondary email address

Is it possible to associate two different email addresses to a single Zotero account? A primary and a secondary?
I've tryed to "add a email" using the settings tab but got an error message.
Thanks

  • yes, definitely possible. The reverse isn't, though--you can't have the same e-mail address associated with multiple Zotero accounts.

What is the error message you're getting?
  • I believe the error for duplicate addresses is pretty generic, but that's almost certainly what it was.
  • Thanks!
After entering a different email address on the "Add Email" box and checking "Update Emails" button I get the message: "Could not add email address".
  • and you're sure that e-mail address isn't associated with another Zotero account? As fcheslack says, that's normally the problem here.
  • Thanks! Problem solved I had two accounts and was only using one of them. I've combined both accounts.
  • Secondary email address not working
Dear Team Zotero, no messages are sent to the secondary email address in our account: why? I got a notification to confirm the new secondary address on Dec. 9 (2.36pm) but nothing else since and cannot find a solution. We had a different secondary email address before, and it worked fine. Any suggestions are most welcome. Yours sincerely, Bettina Rabe
  • Email notifications only go to the primary address. Secondary accounts are mostly for associating your account with your institution if they provide Zotero storage space for you, and can be used for password resets.
