How to export notes along with citations for entire folder?

I want to export an entire folder (which has multiple sub-folders) and include the notes along with the bibliographical information. How would I do this?

    Any human-readable format would be fine.

    If you want it to be human readable, I'd set the recursive collections hidden pref to true:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/hidden_preferences
    then select all in the top collection and generate a report (right-click --> Generate report).

    Export formats are generally more designed towards machines. You can export an entire collection with subcollection by right-click --> export collection and see if any of the formats do what you want, but I wouldn't call any of them human-readable (though in the literal sense of the term they all are).

    Would it work (after setting to recursive) to select all and create a bibliography not an export?

    yes, but bibliographies don't have notes, hence report.
