Can't load files from Firefox to Standalone Report ID 1168671535

Report ID 1168671535: Error code: Component returned failure code: 0x8007000e (NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY) [nsIFile.create]

My organisation's administrator loaded Zotero Standalone on to the computer I have just moved to, but I was using Firefox Zotero on the old computer. When I opened Standalone for the first time, I didn't get a message asking me if I wanted to import my files. When I synched, only a few loaded on to the 'new' computer (it's actually quite old) before I got the error message.
I can't see any situations quite the same on the discussion forum.
  • I tried something different from help on another post but not related to my problem - I opened Zotero standalone from the Start list, not my desktop shortcut, and it appears to have loaded everything ok. No error message. So that is a great hint. Thanks.
  • For transferring a library in general see here:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/transferring_a_library

The error message you're getting means that the harddisk or partition Zotero is trying to save to says it's full. There really isn't much Zotero can do about that. Check that there is sufficient space on the relevant partition.

Well, that would be NS_ERROR_FILE_NO_DEVICE_SPACE. NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY means the system thinks it's out of memory, though that could also be due to low disk space if there's no room for virtual memory. Still very odd for it to report that during file syncing, unless it's trying to sync an extremely large file.
